West Indies blew out Pakistan in the 2nd CWC19 match. West Indies started with their bowling and ended with some superb batting display. West Indies attacked the Pakistani batsmen and in no time, the Windies batsmen found themselves batting on the crease against Amir.
West Indies got in the first breakthrough during the first innings through Cotwell, who took the first wicket. Andre Russel was introduced early on and proved beneficial taking two successive wickets. Andre Russell also gave the other bowlers the way to the wickets. The bowlers took most of the pitch and kept bowlin short balls. Pakistani batsmen struggled a lot against the ounce and often found either themselves being hit or the ball chipping the edge to Shai Hope. Shai Hope took 4 catches as WK in the whole innings and then later when the batsmen found the ball hitting their bat, they still went down as the bounce straightaway directed the ball towards a fielder for a perfect catch.
West Indies strategically and steadily bowled out Pakistan. The last wicket was indeed very interseting. Wahab was hitting all around and seemed to finally break the deadlock but instantly Oshane bowled straight to the stumps and Wahab unready for it, was bowled out for the WC debutant’s 4th wicket.
In the second innings, Amir seemed to bring in the movement for Pakistan but Gayle stuck to the crease and hit it out and into the stands scoring a half – century which also sealed thw win for West Indies.
Pakistan have a lot to cover regarding their bowling and also their top order needs to understand that England is going to be all about bounce and they have still got 8 league matches left.
