The qualifying was amusing and the Free Practice session was reflective. The tyres were the talk and the cars roaring were the on the block.
Many cars were not upto the mark whereas some drivers outdid their cars.
TYRES WILL BE A CONCERN THROUGHOUT THE MAJORITY SEASON
Tyres are a major concern due to the temperatures. This problem will probably persist throughout the European part of the season as this time around the temperatures will be higher than previous seasons as the time of the year is more towards the end. This will affect teams as they are not usually used to such conditions in Europe. A race that will be specifically more problematics will be the one at Imola as it only has one Free Practice session.
This will be a major challenge as teams ike Mercedes will not necessarily be able to manage their tyres especially due to the season’s tyre allocation system.
PIERRE GASLY – SHOWING IT
Pierre Gasly has improved a lot over the past one year and is now showing his skills. His races are not going particularly that well but he seems to be one who can perform very well if in a better car. He is able to get the pace out of the car but it has been noticed that some strategy calls make him lose out everything.
Pierre Gasly is able to get the pace out as he has been able to understand his car completely and his car is balanced enough for him. He knows that his car will support him in normal circumstances and he knows his dynamics, he can hence, take the speed just like Leclerc. He is also motivated by the fact that he has a lot of support and he has to do redemption and he has to prove himself a lot more than he would have thought.
Pierre Gasly should be kept in Alpha Tauri for the 2020 F1 season and then maybe later shifted to Red Bull based on the total understanding.
