The Friday Sense – Formula 1 VTB Russian Grand Prix 2020

It was F1 getting back to the Sochi Autodrom for a Grand – Prix weekend, which included France. Crashes followed but driving seemed dull. The track is very challenging for the drivers but it they still completed and drove in both the Free Practice Sessions, even though some crashed. The sessions were very low on drama, and they were both contrasting in many ways to the other Free Practice session of the day.

The Tuscan Grand Prix which marks a special event of being Ferrari’s 1000th race in Formula 1 and also marks a new track on the calendar, also 20 years of Kimi Raikkonen’s first ever Formula 1 test drive with Sauber and also Vettel’s move to Aston Martin as Perez’s contract gets terminated by Racing Point at the end of 2020. The Italian Grand Prix was off to an expected kind of start with there being some spins and some gravel run offs. The 6th Grand Prix weekend of the 2020 F1 Season went on to a successfully hot and ignited start as the drivers utilised the two Free Practice sessions and made some very important and notable understandings which will affect each and every team a lot. Williams again gave a F2 racer a chance to drive a F1 car in the first Free Practice Session. The Spanish Grand Prix is a critical one keeping in mind what had happened previously on this circuit, what has happened previously in the 2020 F1 Season and what is set up for the future.

The fourth Grand Prix of the 2020 F1 Season swished off with all cars speeding and accelerating on the Silverstone Circuit. The first practice session and the second practice session, both were filled with similarities as they were several issues, speeds and accidents throughout the day. There was even a surprise as Nico Hulkenberg replaced Sergio Perez as Perez tested Covid – 19 positive. Hoping he gets well soon and stays fit.

The third Grand Prix of the 2020 F1 Season swished off with all cars not really roaring but driving around the Hungaroring track. The first practice session was a dry affair whereas the second one was a more silent and wet affair.

The second Grand Prix of the 2020 F1 Season ignited off as the drivers accelerated out on the Red Bull Ring for the second FP1 in just a week’s time as the Red Bull Ring hosts a double-header. The Friday Free Practice session were taken part in by all 20 drivers and gave a slight sense of how the season, or more prominently how the weekend will work out.What also needs to be kept in mind is that there is a probability that the Qualifying sessions might not take place due to weather conditions and then, the FP2 results might be taken into consideration to form the Starting Grid for the Race on the 12th of July, 2020.
